Cosmos Raise Funds to Fight Diabetes
By Russ GeorgeThe Cosmopolitan Club of Aurora, the club that fights diabetes, held their first Major Fundraiser of the year “A Night at the Farm”, in the Barn at Blackberry Farm, last Friday, June 25th.The skies cleared, the bonfire was lit, and the Barn came alive with music by “Sling Blade”, a classic rock and blues band.

Spartan House from Aurora provided the hors d’oeuvres, pulled pork and chicken sliders, dessert, along with a full service cash bar.

People in attendance moved around the barn purchasing tickets for the raffle of 30 baskets, the 50/50 cash raffle, a Cubs/Sox crosstown classic ticket raffle, and corks for the wine pull.

Throughout the evening, the free door prize drawing allowed 25 people in attendance, to win gift cards worth up to $25.00 each.

Russ George, President of the Cosmopolitan Club, thanked all the event sponsors, including the Spartan House, Arch Printing, Sling Blade, the Fox Valley Park District, the people who purchased tickets, and all the Aurora Cosmopolitan members, who worked to make this event happen, allowing the Cosmopolitan Club of Aurora to raise more than $16,00.00, to use in their fight against diabetes.

President George reminded everyone to mark their calendar for next year’s 2nd Annual “A Night at the Farm”, to be held either on Friday, June 24th, or Saturday, June 25th, 2022.
